just noticed the backseat speakers arent playing monsoon

OK let me post this one more time! Monsoon rear seat speakers are subs and NEED the amp to drive them. They will not work right directly off the deck!!

That is why they dont sound right. when plugged in directly. Also the Bose system has unique speakers with individual amps on each speaker and are not compatable with other systems.

i`ve got the monsoon, and as far as i can tell everything is original on my car as far as electronics goes. but why would the new speaker with the same ohms as original play more quiet than the original? (rear hatch)

Where did you find 2Ω after market speakers? Most after market speakers I ever have run across have been 4Ω.

erm.. i thought the rear hatch was 4inch 4ohm speakers, thats what it said on the back of the one i pulled out, and on crutchfield, so i bought 4 inch 4 ohm

4 ohm is the recommended replacement but 2 ohm is the actual value of the factory speakers. and being 2x the impedance you dont get the same amount of volume as you would from the lower value speakers. Just keep them the same you should be OK.
