I have 94 Auto Z28 and my check engine light comes on only when im moving or when I am in neutral. If I stop at a stop light or sign the light will go off. The car runs fine and there is nothing else wrong except the fans come on when the light come on but that is probably because of the light since the car is not running hot. I would get it scanned for free at autozone or a place like that, but they only have the scanners for 96 and newer vehicles and I don't want to pay a dealer one hundred dollars for a scan. Has anybody herd of a problem like this because it is very annoying and im guessing it is a sensor somewhere. MAF or MAP? Someone help?

I'm pretty sure you can get a code reader for your engine, if it's OBD I, for around $35. Check on E-bay. There's a GM specific one. I'm one of the lucky 95 owners with an OBD I system but an OBD II connecter, so I can't use the cheap one. I would get one if I were you. It could be a lot of things and it's just too hard to guess correctly if it shows no symptoms. Hope this helps.

My 94 Z28 has an OBDII connector but OBDI computer. The cheap scanner does not work for me either.
