Ok forget everything and just run the 2 wires from each light to the low beam area and tap into those wires. Lights will then be on when low beams are and when high beams are on.

i always wonder why they arent on with the high beam. doesnt make alot of sense to me. the low beams are not that good, maybe thats why. im not so sure i would wire into the headlght system. last thing you want is to overload it and have the lights go off.

Fog lights won't over load the system. The reason why fog lights shut off when high beams are on is because the high beam put out a brighter light showing more area including the ground that fog lights show. Also fog lights are for the fog and other conditions light heavy snow or rain fall. If you have your high beams on you'll only see a few feet in front of you. With the fog lights it lights the ground up allowing you to see your driving area alot better.

i know its gotta be really foggy before i have to dim the lights to see better. the headlights on these are not the brightest. lol. could it be im getting old so need more light. i have some headlights that are supposed to be a tad brighter but gotta wait for the ones on the car to burn out to try em. op should be able to wire into the fog/driving light switch to use with the lights if they want. just gotta figure the wiring out. i dont have any diagrams for the 97 and dont know if its the same as my 93.

No it's not the same but kinda the same. When the 3.8l went in they changed the colours of the wires going to things. Personally I think he should wire it in the way gm did it. That way it can be turned off and save the bulbs. No it's not that your getting old. It's just the camaro. Lol. I hate how dim these lights are. So hard to see at night with them. High beams aren't to bad but the lows are garbage.
