Well 161k really Isnt that much I would say over 200k you should sell the car or your value will drop alot all of my familys cars are around the 150k Ish - 161k range except for a van that has 100k miles.

Quick view at you postings did not see what part of the country you are from. If you live in south where summers are 100+ all day, trust me your oil in your car which as sat in the hot sun all day is warmed up already.

150 K would be considered low mileage for a Freightliner which is designed to go 500K miles between overhauls; 150 K especially on a little 3.4 that has to haul a 3500 lb car around is way past its prime.

Some day you will realize that what people ask for is not what they usually get. But that is getting off the subject for this thread.

what he is saying is this.. most plp post on Craigslist dnt have a clue what their car is worth. the guy who sold me my camaro wanted 2200 for it. I talked it down to 1100 because it had 174k. and guess what two months later the fuel pump goes and the rear seal. back on topic....your better off with a heavier oil because after 150k or so a fair amount of nickel has worn off, piston rings and bearings are loose. your right the camaro can last past 200k but that depends a lot on how the engine was maintained throughout it entire life span and was it abused.. you could blow a head gasket tomorrow. who knows...

Alright about the oil thing but honestly this car has been taken great care of I wont blow a head gasket. Well can I ask what kind of car you bought. I bought a 1994 Chevy Camaro V6 3.4L car with 161k with newer brakes newer tires the exterior has quite a few scratches but oh well the Interior has a small hole on the driver seat which Isnt that big of a deal I put In a new left front tie rod end got the car up and running like It should without any problems which now this car runs great Its actually really nice but In all I have 2200 Into the car would you say Its a nice deal or what. This has newer tires that were probably like 500 alone then with the repairs I paid a guy to do to get the car up and running fully functional like It should It runs like Its brand new but anyway how would you say I did as far as 2200 total Into the car.

I have a 95 3.4 liter 1000 miles since the rebuild. I can't tell you putting 2200 into a 3.4 liter is bad thing, but some on here would... its all about what you want! with the money I spent on mines I couldve bought a z28 but that wasn't I wanted. I personallly didn't care too much about the power aspect that's what I got my cuda for. I just like the 4 gen and wanted to fix it up for looks and have a fun ride. as long as you take good care of your camaro it will take care of you

Well, did you look at your Owners Manual, page 190?

Clearly 10W-30 is fine for +0 degrees Fahrenheit... But 5W-30 IS preferred.

He said that this wont hurt the car because oil Is oil and he has done this plenty of times before with his vehicles. I was wondering If that since I put the 10w 30 In If that could mess the car up but I wont run It empty once the car Is finished being repaired we will change the oil out to what It needs but we needed to add oil so we could atleast drive the car to the shop. Well then my next thing would be what oil would you reccomend should I stick with the original manufactures recommendations of 5w 30 or what because I also saw on a different thread I made they said use 10w 40 but Idk about that reply to all my questions thanks for looking at my post.
