hows it sound?
my friend might be getting a v6 90 something camaro. i forget what year, mabe 96, not sure. but he wants to put a muffler on it if he gets it. he cant buy a cat back cuz hes kinda short on cash, what kind of muffler sounds best on a v6? he wants it to sound good and kinda like a v8. its a 5speed and its all stock with 220,000 miles. kinda high i know, but hes gettin it for like 300 bucks. the reason im posting this is because he has no internet.

RE: hows it sound?
Well, its not that we don't wanna help, my friend, it just that there has been at least five similar threads around over the past week. And the discussion always comes down to the same thing - exhaust is a matter of preference. Some people like flowmaster, others prefer magnaflow, etc.
Best thing to do is look for clips on youtube and judge for youself.

I'd shoot for a Flowmaster, I think their 80's series is made for V6's, could be wrong on the series number though. I had a buddy that put a Flowmaster on his Grand Prix and I was surprised at the sound he got out of it. It wasn't until he hit the upper RPM band that it started to sound a bit ricey, even then it wasn't bad. Stay away from glasspacks though. When I had a Blazer with a 4.3 Vortec and the muffler started to rot out, somebody suggested putting a glasspack on it. They said it'll sound just a bit higher pitched than a normal V8 but still sound good. Sounded like a cheap *** ricer when I hit the gas, pay the extra money and go name brand, something specifically for a V6 application.

my friend has a crate 350shortblock in his old chevy pick up running BBK headers and flowmaster American thunders and it sounds good, my dad has a 2005 Nissan Titan 5.6L V8 with a single flowmaster AT and its almost as loud as my catless 3in exhaust.
