How to remove rear hatch lock cylinder?

I just bought a set of lock cylinders and the doors were easy enough.
After removing the rear tail lights and body panel with "Camaro" written across it I find out there is some kind of rivet in there holding the lock cylinder in place.
It almost looks like you can punch it out with a hammer and chisel but would like to confirm this first as my first few tries were unsuccessful.
Anyone else have experience with this? It's not in my manual..
