That could win as the most vague question I have seen in a long time.

If you want to swap a small block in where a V6 is? If you do all the work about 5K if you pay someone else to do the labor 10k.

If you are talking about just replacing a 3800 then its about 20 hour of labor about $500 in parts plus the cost of the engine

The reason I said $500 in parts is because you would want to do Plugs, wires, water pump belts hoses and motor mounts. If you are buying a newer fount wheel drive 3800 you will also need most of the gaskets and seals for the motor.

be a good idea to do head gasket job to be sure they wont fail 10k miles into it. so much easier to do with engine out.

I agree,in fact when I've done used engine swaps in the past I've found a complete engine overhaul gasket set is often not a whole lot more money if any than piece mealing a few that you need, if you are buying head gaskets and water pump etc. I'd buy the complete kit and just do them all after cleaning the engine and engine bay real well and usually invest in a can of spray paint or two so it looks nice under the hood when I'm done. Also as Gorn said, plugs, plug wires ,belts and hoses. It's some extra cost up front but if you are playing the long game and plan on keeping the car it will save you headaches and money down the road for a long time to come. On the other hand if you are going to part with the car right away I'd do as little as possible to get in running although a good wash and some spray paint to make it look nice isn't a bad investment sometimes.
