How to blackout turn signals.
I say don't, but if you really want to take them out of the car its not hard to do at all just unbolt the plastic under the car and slide it out once you detach the bulbs and single holding bolt
I highly recommend covers though, shine through better, can remove them when you want and they won't fade ever, plus there only like 25 dollars for a set offline

I had the opposite experience. I used VHT NightShades and mine turned out amazing. Here's a pic of them. The first pic is before I clear coated them and the second pic is after I cleared and buffed them. Also I had the clip ons at one point ad the VHT lets tons more light through from what I saw.

Also MaVeN: DO NOT tape stuff off to spray them. Take them out and do it the right way. Otherwise, you WILL get over spray. I don't care if you tape off the entire car, you will get over spray and you will not be very happy when you go to buff them out while they're in that small area in the front bumper.
Mhm, what chaotic is the most true thing ever in car painting, unless you paint each part of the car in a separate booth you'll still get overspray because particles floating in the air, and I highly recommend covers, you just have to make sure they fit very tight to the lights, I actually have bolts on mine to keep them extra snug and for security lol
sorry for thread-jacking, but I'm probably going to be tinting my turn signals soon too. So do I just have to take them out, clean them, spray them (how many coats), and clear coat them?
Take them out, rub them down with rubbing alcohol to remove any grease that may be on them. then spray away. I would recommend 5-7 light mists of the black VHT. And I did like 5 coats of clear. Then buff the crap out of them a day after they've dried real good.
