Default hot rubber smell

Ok so tonight I was getting out of my car to go into a place and when I armed my cars alarm with the remote I noticed when the fog lights flashed that there was some grayish whiteish smoke that was kind of floating around the front of the car from the engine. This is the first time I've ever noticed this before. However there have been times that my friends and I have noticed a smell of like hot rubber before and I've checked every belt and hose under the hood and they're all fine. I didn't know if this was just a common thing?I'm not stupid I know the engine gets damn hot but I didn't know if there was something I should do to stop it? The smell isn't unbearable butyou can definitly tell it's coming from the engine.I haven't noticed any performance issues at all. Anyone elses car doing that?

Default RE: hot rubber smell

It might be your bulbs maybe??? sometimes they get too hot and start burning up a little, happens in my benz all the time, or i would check to make sure that nothing is rubbing on any pulley's or connections at all
