1augapfel, thats nice to here you were able to do that ! It is hard to scrounge up the cash. Just finished rebuilding the front end too, bushings, spindles, tires ect. Craby, the project was between April and Sept 2009. Still have door window motors, heater core, headliner, gotta a burnt spark plug wire too, yet to fix. I had to save up for over a year before starting. THANKS and good luck all !!

PS: that 3.4 is plenty of engine, the LT1 is a little more than needed, can get you in trouble on rainny days.

i will try to post the dimensions, you could use 3/4 plate steel, and cut it out with a torch, drill a few holes...shackles and eye-bolts, done. The bellhousing bolts were hard to reach, top ones from the top ( intake was removed ) and the rest from the bottom. I didn't like the idea of being under the car on a bottm removal, so decided make it a top pull.

yeah but if you could make a bunch of them then patented it you would make loads of money man atleast i think so i did a bottom drop on a sebring IT WAS A P.I.A the way we did it was pull the fenders off jacked the car up on blocks unbolted the sub frame and exaughst then lowered it back onto the ground unbloted the shock towers and misc bs then there was a body brace we hooked our motor lift to the brace and lifted the body up and blocked it up again then wraped a chain around the front end and got the wieght off of the wheels and rolled it out im going to post pics soon

I am with you 1augapfel. I re built my 3.4 and it was a chore well worth the lessons learned. I admire the LT1 to the max and I know that I can relate to all the sweat that CNCMan went through. Love the innovative technique of pulling the engine out from under the windshield. I will have to make one for my next build.
