Help deciding on Car

Yeah, both of those are overpriced. I've found Edmunds.com to be more realistic than KBB is. Rating that 02 as "outstanding" condition (the highest), and adding the value for the low miles and options, puts the asking price at $9,060 dealer, $7,466 private party. Of course, if the car has some flaws to make it less than perfect, the value is less than that. Sometimes getting a private seller, like in this instance, to come down a lot can be hard because of the attachment he may have with the car. And let's face it, every seller's car is the "best one" out there, so it must be worth gold.....not!

The shifter on the '02 looks pretty stupid. But to each their own I suppose. And 9500 is bit too much even with all the options it has in it and paint looking pretty nice.
The 95 looks like the paint is a bit more faded. But with 15000 miles on new engine and 85k original it looks worth it. I'd still try talking the guy down to $5500 or even $5000 if your bold. Doesn't say whether it's an m6 or a4.
Guess it comes down to would you rather have a LT1 or an LS1?
Personally, I'd take the LS1. Reason? Aftermarket is better, more power to start with, and parts (at least around my town) are easier to find. I love my LT1, but who doesn't want more power?

And if you want the most bang for your buck, build something. You spend an extra $4k for a better foundation but at the end of the day you still have a 3400 pound f-body. They get the job done, but I wouldn't invest too much into these plastic cars.

Really? Edmunds is spot on? If that's the case, my 98 Camaro Z28 Convertible with 79k miles is worth a whopping $3800 retail? I'd sooner shoot myself than to sell for that amount.

Who said "spot on"? Not me, not even a hint. I said more realistic compared to KBB. Neither one is "spot on", but I've found KBB often times than not to be even more way off base compared to actual street values. The main flaw I've found when trying to go "by the book", is the add on value for a low miles car doesn't reflect nearly as accurately as how the car is selling (or trying to sell) on the street. "Book" is a guideline, not bible. Is your car, with those miles, worth more than the 3800 it says? Absolutely.
