I'm thinking this cam from ia.

•Ai 226 / 234 - .569/.570 - 110 LSA - Primary Operating Range: 2000 - 6200 rpm
◦This is our largest stock long-block cam for auto cars. Lopey idle, good drivability, and excellent mid-range with peak power at approximately 6200 rpm. Properly tuned w/ supporting modifications, M6's typically produce 345 - 360 rwhp SAE corrected.

CC 1.6 ProMagnum NSA rr's
CC 918's or PAC 1218's
TF chromemoly pr's
TF guideplates
ARP 7/16" studs

That looks like a nice cam too. Who makes it?

I'm well aware that the Hotcam is blown away by the others posted, I'm just not sure if it's in his best interest to rev a 2 bolt and opti-powered block to 6,500+ rpm. If this is going to be a weekend car then do whatever the hell you want with it, but unless you have a backup vehicle or some sort of safety net I'd stay away.

I'd rather get the cheaper and better performing cam than buy the more expensive and lesser performing one from the factory.

How exactly is it less expensive?

JEGS/SD Hotcam Kit -- $570
LT4 Hotcam
1.6 RR's
Valve springs, caps, shims, keys

DIY Kit
Cam -- $290+
918 Springs -- $170+
1.6 RRockers -- $190+
+ everything else

That's already over the mark.
