Default Head Gasket might be going

I think one of my head gaskets might be going

i have white smoke from the exhaust during start-up and though and its pretty warm out now

its only during start up and when it heats it up its not as noticeable but its still there

so basically, how hard is it to change head gaskets in these cars and while im in there what are some moderately cheap performance modifications i could apply

What engine is it? They aren't that hard depend on engine depends on how long it will take.

the white smoke that goes away once the engine has warmed up some is perfectly normal. It is from water condensing in the exhaust as it cools. Temps outside dont matter as much as humidity levels do. You need to worry if the smoke is all the time and the exhaust smells like burnt antifreeze.

If the trans leaks then you would see bluish smoke and it would not come out the tail pipe. How about you make a vid of the engine running cold and warm and lets compair that will help. You can also do a chemical exhaust gas test (I cant post the vid here the Army blocked youtube again).

When its earned up and no .longer smokes on startup rev it up, if it smokes then yes its a headgasket, or at least very likely. Compression test is the best way to tell.
