Hi,

I have a Camaro 2001 V6 and been having intermittent problems with the Hatch Ajar Light. Does seem like the sensor in the trunk might be the source of the problem.
It happens when I drive or sometimes even when parked which causes the alarm to go off (very annoying).
Searched the forum and could not find a solution. Pardon if I missed it.

Suggestions how to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried adjusting the latch. make sure its getting all the way closed. has a catch when its part way open

 

I did try to adjust the latch and it got better but did not fix the issue.
When I bought the car the trunk did not open properly so I added the extra spring, link to fix here.

Removed the spring and adjusted the latch to the lowest position.
Now trunk opens and it does seem to have fixed hatch ajar light problem as well.
