Its either the plug wires or the coil packs. It'll run fine till operating temp then start running like ****. I've had this happen on lots of cars.

the car will run fine when i start it cold, i can floor it and it's like nothing's wrong. but when it goes up to operating temperature, it starts sputtering.
I would suggest not flooring it while its cold.. That might help you prevent other problems down the road..

The MAF could cause this problem. If the ECM doesn't know how much air is comming into the engine it doesn't know how much fuel is needed. There for the more you open the throttle the more air is coming in and the computer doesn't know to add fuel do the car is running lean and starving for fuel.

TheGrimReaper73 is your check engine light working? Does it come on when you turn the key to "ON"
Usually when the MAF is acting up the car forces itself back into open loop mode and runs off the MAP and the preset fuel trims that are loaded into the computer.

I would say replace your crank sensor and go from there, I've heard of it tripping false codes before. If that doesn't take care of the issue go for the MAF. If that doesn't take care of the issue you have a bigger problem on your hands.

TheGrimReaper: your problem sounds like it could be a leaking EGR valve. Take off your EGR and see if you can clean it (I use carb cleaner), it's possible you have some carbon buildup inside and it's leaking.
