Default Gas Mileage

What can I do to improve my gas mileage on my 94 Camaro. It's horrible. Thanks in advance.

Drive like a sane person,
Give the car a proper tune up, including a clean air filter.
Keep tires inflated properly
Don't use car as storage bin
Don't idle engine for prolonged periods

i would recommend one of those performance chip things because they claim to add around 10-25 hp r something like thatalong with helping your gas mileage, but i don't even know if they are worth it or not, can anyone tell give us some info on whether those are worth the money or not? because i knowu can get them for really cheap on ebay

how are you guys getting so good gas milage?.? i have a 96 3.8 and was getting 8miles a gallon without romping on it(i made sure i didnt romp) before i changed air filter... come to find out, guy before me didnt know car had a air filter.... so anyway, it went up to 13 when i put a K&N on, then i put a shallow mount cone filter on and jumped to 15.. and ive cleaned the whole air intake tubes and all that(havent rebuilt engine) but have done new plugs, new gas filter, all the minor stuff. cant get it above 16MPG, and idfk why... well, im thinking its cuz i have 2 holes in gas tank on top(where the old sub box use to be mounted) so bout 5MM holes... any opinions on wheather or not that could be doing it? i know that the 2 holes do throw my emissions sensor off every once in a while... opinions would be great.

Is your MIL illuminated? I get roughly a low to mid twenties in terms of miles per gallon. I can average 320 miles per tank, which, at maximum capacity, is 13 gallons. 8 mpg is quite terrible, and may be a direct correlation of an underlying problem. Reply and let us know whether the check engine light is on, whether or not your car is showing any codes, and other useful information. Anything that will tell the computer to add more fuel may be faulty, or anything sending a load. O2 sensors (extremely vital in closed loop mode), MAP, MAF, TPS, ECT (extremely vital in open loop mode), and IAT sensor defects could all contribute to poor fuel economy. I'd really like to take a look at your car on a proper SnapOn MT2500 or a newer MODIS. I'm really interested in what the fuel trim looks like for your car.

i get bout 230 miles for a tank of 15gallons, and no check engine lights, well it comes on every so often(like once a week) and only code it reads is emissions, and thats cuz of the gas tank holes i described. and like i said, i dont romp on it either, you think my comp is just off??
