The difference between the early and late Opti is the late opti is vented. You don't need the full LT4 kit to run it, just a 1995 or later front cover.

Ok, so the front cover and the cam gear. The pin in the cam is adjustable...

Personally, I wouldn't buy any car parts off of E Bay. You can get as good a price from reputable parts dealers such as Rock Auto, and be assured the parts are what they are claimed to be, carry a warranty, and can always get a refund or exchange in case of problems. And if the purchase is over a certain amount, the shipping is free.

oh ok well i was just wondering because i like the idea of it being vented. but right now i just want one that will work long enough for me to diagnose if it is my opti that isnt working for sure. and if i can get one to work for say 1000 miles, it works for me because i plan on trading my car into a dealer for a 98 z28

anyone bought an opti off of summit??? cause its looking my opti died in my 94Z after only 7,800 miles on it :-( i really dont wanna pay the 515$ for the MSD but was thinking of buying summits for 250. any suggestions??

well dispite what you guys said i went ahead and bought one off of ebay for 30 bucks with free shipping. so far i have gone about 300 miles with no problems what so ever. so maybe you should just check who you got from yours if you want i can get you the name of the person i bought mine from

im not buying a 30 dollar opti, why did you do that? i say no, so you think maybe the 30 dollar one would be better? is it new? or used?
