Default Fuel Pump whinning

ok 97 camaro 3.8 liter v-6 when temp is cool outside fuel pump does not make any funny noises but when it gets hot outside it will start screaming and as you pickup speed it will quiet down at idle is very noisy but only when outside temp is above 85 degrees done replaced the fuel pump relay that helped for a short time fuel pressure is good

Have you replaced the fuel filter? Keep the gas above 1/4 of a tank?

Sounds like your fuel pump is failing. Heat is a big killer of the fuel pumps and the gas in the car is fuel pumps coolant. It could make noise like that for a few months or it could die tomorrow. You get to the point is it hard to start in the morning it’s done.

i keep the fuel above quarter tank all the time and i have replaced the fuel filter allready even when its making noise fuel pressure is still up to 48 lbs pressure wondering if wiring could be braking down an causing to much resistance

The noise is most likey bearings getting hot.

That sound is the prelude to failure. Be prepared for it.
