Can someone give detailed instruction on how to successful and properly replace a fuel filter in a 1999 V6 3.8L Camaro. I've look at videos but I'd like to be sure. Thx

I have not done this my self on this car as of yet so I am not sure what fuel filter is uses so I cant tell you how to do it. If you really dont know what you are doing under the car or in the engine you should take a class on auto repair, find some one who can teach you, or get the 3 service manuals that Craby talked about in the other thread. Honestly you should be able to follow what myself and others have said with out pics to bleed your cooling system and with this filter if it is the screw on type you should be able to tell what to do by looking at the thing. If it has the push in clips then I could understand needing some guidance. Anyway I dont mean to sound like an a$$ but some of this stuff is pretty simple, and you should be able to figure it out on your own.

to add to what Massey said, in my experience I've found it's fear, and not lack of knowledge that makes people hesitate. I also don't know where it is on a sixer but if it's like a 3rd gen or 4th gen v8 then it's under the car and not a difficult job at all. if you buy the filter, and can't figure out how to replace it by looking at the new filter, and the old one, then you should not tackle it.

I also do not follow the "correct procedure" . I get a towel, a drip pan, go under the car, remove the old filter, let the fuel drip into the pan or towel, slap on the new filter and I'm done. I do at least remove the fuel cap.
