Default Flowmaster Muffler?

I want to buy a Flowmaster muffler to replace the stock muffler.

I don't want to replace the tips as I like the stock (rectangle) tips.

I found two 80 series mufflers that look identical to the stock muffler. I don't know which one to get?

If anyone knows about the size of the stock muffler and placement; your insight would be awesome!

flowmaster aka slowmaster sucks imo. Magnaflow ftw if you have the cash youd get a better flow from mags.

The only thing that sucks about Flowmaster is the amount of exhaust they suck out of the engine!

Most of my friends who race bracket and pro street all use Flowmaster. My buddy ran a 6.97 in the quarter in his 67 RS/SS; not sure what is slow about that? If he swears by them for his 604 Big Block I am sure my 350 and my 383 Stroker will be just fine.

I think the difference in CFM between Maganflow and Flowmaster is nominal at best. It comes down to more of a personal preference.

I have a Flowmaster in my 94 Z and I love it. Anything is better than stock and everyone loves the way my car sounds. I went with the 40 series and it gives out that nice low grumble.

How did you go with a 40 series? Do you have dual 40s out the back? Did you mount it transversely?

I love the sound of my 40s on my 68' but I have true duals on there. I know ground clearance is an issue for true duals on the 4th generation.

I am just looking to replace my stock muffler with the aftermarket one. I like the look of stock (stay out of sight of the black and white).

You know I'm going to have to get back with you on this?! I put the exhaust on the car right after I got it almost7 years ago so I could be wrong. Dammit! I hate it when that happends!!! No it's a single with one inlet and two out.

I just got my car about a month ago and the exhaust was shot..... looked around for a while and went with the Flowmaster cat back system (with the 80 series)and it sounds good. Iwould recomend you weld it if you have access.

Aren't the cat-back systems like $250? How much did you get your for?

I found which muffler I need to replace. I can get the muffler for less than $100 including S&H to my house via ebay.

I will definitely weld the system in.
