Look at the seller feedback on those hoods....there are a couple of negative ones complaining about the fit. Those are pretty cheaply prices compared to some of the ones I have seen and they may be cheap for a reason....

 

biggest thing on the 97 and earlier ss hood is how the fresh air is delivered you that hood has the 98-02 style underside so i dont know if it can be hooked up. the 96-97 ss cars were connected to the hood like this



with the filter right up against the hood. since the airbox was moved to middle of the 98-02s the added the runners to the front. just keep an eye on that.

 

Thanks for all the input, guys! Later on down the road I'll definitely be considering this, as I hear ram air from a functional scoop has more HP gains than a CAI setup like mine. Also, I'm looking for more form than function right now, so I don't mind where the runners go until I get a ram air setup

 

Nope. They're both the same, negligible in the grand scheme of things.

And thats coming from a guy with a WS6, boy I wish the advertised "ram air" effect of 25 hp was accurate though

 

If its just a hand full you cant trust those 100%. People who own cars that or miss aligned due to past wrecks etc blame a hood for there fitting problem.

Beware of this..I bought the same hood from the same seller, and although it was advertised as "No fitment problem/cutting needed" it definitely does not sit right. I have a 94 Z28 all stock under the hood, and the hood hits in so many places its unbelievable. It hits the top of the alternator, the radiator cap, and it's not well made. I went to have an estimate to paint it and the guy said he wouldn't guarantee the paint on it, because the "gel coat" or whatever it's called on the hood was starting to bubble. Along with that, the hood is going to need a lot of body work to look presentable..

The overall thing I'm trying to say here is, you're going to get what you pay for. I ending up buying mine from hoods4sale for like 250$ and I got what I paid for. A cheaply made fiberglass hood.

 

Which is why I said they are probably cheap for a reason....

 

if you want a nice fitting hood, its best to look into someone like vfn fiberglass, they made the hood for my car and it only took minor trimming to make it fit well
