Expenses, expenses...1) new motor mount part 2) fuel injector Carburetuor cleaner?
Expenses, expenses...1) new motor mount part 2) fuel injector Carburetuor cleaner?
that's the title
where's that dude from Hyundai an import company advertisting about vacation hot spots like san diego, ca?
i am in and around here and it is raining heavily now
Here are some interesting costs on my 4th Gen. Camaro which appeared in the hit film "Heat"....:: (drum roll)
*1) $620 Driveshaft Camaro 93 Upgraded Model that doesn't break into to or not connect and cause car to stall in middle of road
2) $140 for a Transmission mount
3) $150 Transmission Service
All of these at the same Trans. shop and all included the price of labor. After my visit to the Trans. shop...
and before my visit to The General Mechanic, what happened was at Idle at the stop light my car vibrated and caused my accelerator foot to vibrate, too.
There are 2 possible problems per the knowledgeable competent desk guy / manager at the reputable yelp.com high customer service rating Trans. Shop:
1) Old Transmission Mount may have been there so long and Interfered with the Motor Mount or mounts (plural)
2) Fuel Injector System
I'd think motor mounts are like screws less than $20 bucks each and only 12 like as in a V-12 motor?
I need help, I don't like having spent so much to have this baby shake like a 25 cent sleazy hotel room bed at the traffic light, kind of a lot less worse than Joe Dirt at the Hollywood Lot entrance.
***My final expense was today....today I spent $450 at a General Mechanic who fixed it the same day in 2-3 hours
Big Cam baby motors have to be Lifted High. (they charge 80 bucks labor by the way)
2-3 hours and my engine oil leak sealed and not have to be monitored often and I can chill on that--I'm happy in this respect.
I had used fuel injector cleaner in a normal educated doseage to pass Smog (and I did pass Smog 2 days ago) and when my car was stalled because of a disconnected driveshaft which basically could or was a recall by Chevy / GM.
These are the scenarios, even though I had a tune up 8 - 9 months ago, something got dirty, the greasy work The Transmission Shop dudes made to change my Transmission mount. Or something dirty got into the Carb., etc. may have got into the fuel system and can be flushed out for cheap? AND...
If it was a motor mount problem, the car ***which runs smoothly at acclerated speeds of 10 - 15 or more miles per hour*** it would rattle and vibrate more at these higher speeds, right?
Well, I'm not sure.
*****BUT I CAN'T EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH SHE RUNS SMOOTHLY PAST 4 MILES PER HOUR. IT'S ONLY STALLED OR IDLE AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT IN IDLE WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO GO GREEN---DOES IT VIBRATE A LOT A LOT NOTICEABLY. THESE CAPS HAVE NO ANGER BEHIND THEM PUSHED FOR EMPHASIS
Either costs have got to be a lot less than what it cost me to fix an oil leak. On a small compact import, it would cost me $150 at MIDAS.
I spent $420 to seal the leak which included labor prices which was nice of this general-mechanic as opposed to a transmission-shop-mechanic
I'm hoping Big Time that the "rattling/vibrating/shaking at Idle like a Traffic Light" problem will be $400 (such $400 includes labor at the same general-mechanic shop that did my oil leak seal) or Way Way less would even be better with labor.
I yelped him and the transmission shop, the Trans. shop knocked off $20. Make a 5 star Yelp if and only if u get good service, print it out and you may get a discount. I don't know if they were gonna give me the discount anyway regardless of the favorable yelp.com review I gave them.
***Anyway, here are my crazy costs in 1 week's time at reputable worry-free researched shops (both a general-mechanic shops & Transmission shop): $1,350
For sure, I want my CamCat to purr but not like border violently on bad vibes, this general-mechanic guy who I yelped.com 20 minutes ago gave me awesome favorable reviews. wrote that "he gave me red - carpet treatment, and was competent honest etc.) ,
he charges $80 per hour labor
I am hoping he gives me a NY rs discount and just does everything for $120
I can get the rest in a week but I'm not leaving my car there for a week
a car that shakes rattles and rolls like Jerry Lee Lewis at Idle is kind of kinky for me and my girlfriend.
Plus, I'd never slam down on the gas at start, I might jar something loose going too fast
Ok as always, any welcomed comments much appreciated. Please I want to fix this nagging prob. hopefully tomorrow considering all I have spent in 1 week.
