Default Exhaust sound sucks..

A little while back I bought a Magnaflow cat-back for my car.. and I'm just not impressed. Don't get me wrong.. I'm not disappointed.. but I'm not impressed either.

I had a 97 RS with off road X-Pipe, and it was loud.. and had a nice power gain.. and sounded as beefy as a Sixer could sound. I was happy.

My 98 Z/28.. is neither loud.. nor very much more beefy sounding than stock. It was an improvement.. but not by much.

What's my next step.. spend on headers and x pipe? or just get electronic cutouts. (I live in Canada where snow is a factor). Or would true duals work?

have u been behind the car when its getting it on. these cars are very deceiving when it comes to exhaust sound. that said im sorry its not working out for ya. shoulda went with borla, the adjustables can help if the local law gets u on there personal radar. lol. so how long has it been from new and is there a cat? lt headers would be a good next step. personally i think they deepen and enhance the sound and yes i think they make a little more noise.

The catback is about 6 months old. And yeah i've been behind it and its just not what I'm lookin for. I was thinkin of going for Borla.. but I just couldn't justify spending 3 times as much. So i think I'll jus have to find a way around it with what I've got meow
