The Quick Fun Fix for Mild Engine Noise

The SoundRacer V8 makes any car sound like it means business

The need to haul a family, local sound ordinances and environmental considerations are all valid concerns but can add up to one big problem for those who love to drive: You're stuck with a car whose engine noise is, well, wimpy.

Enter the SoundRacer V8.

The tiny device -- which we first found through Australian tech site Gizmag, which put together a fun demo video for the product -- plugs into your car's cigarette lighter, then reads the revs coming from the tachometer and translates them into the throaty rumblings of a mean V8, all played back through your stereo via an FM transmitter. There's even a V10 version if you'd rather your old Geo Metro sound more like a Lambo than a Mustang.

Go to this web site and enjoy. All buttons work.
