exhaust sound
so about a week ago i installed a brand new american thunder exaust system (flowmaster 80 series crossflow w/ dual 3' chrome tips) on my 94 3.4 v6 n so far its mellowed out a lil it compared to its original rice burner sound but will it deepen out and sound less ricer?? bc i really would hate for my camaro ta sound like a rice burner so should i worry ab out it??
Well, I have the same engine and car as you but I run my exhaust a different way. I took off the stock muffler, replaced the cat with a Mangaflow highflow cat and just ran some pipe from where the old muffler was out to the back of the car. No matter what, at high rpms, its going to sound like a "ricer." But with the setup I run, I get a very loud and low gargle from idle to 4k rpms. But why would you want to take it much past that anyway?

i dont go pas 4 grand but when i get on it frum a complete stop a lil too fas it jus sounds ricer, when it idles it sounds beautiful n yeah its loud when im actually drivin it but the tone jus isnt as low as i thot it would be while drivin, but thank you
I hvae the same car and exhaust, a CAI will help a LITTLE bit with the deepening. My car sounds good, but next to a v8 there is no comparrison. I get ALOT that ppl think my car is a v8, but ur not gonna get that low rumble like u want... sry bud!
So how much of a difference did you notice and HP increase did you get on your 3.4 with headers added? Did you dyno test it before & after?
Thanks...
Thanks...
