Default exhaust

I have a 2001 ss and I was wondering if there are any websites that sell an x-pipe. If so when bolting them to long tube headers do you still use the existing cat.

If you're looking for an X pipe your best bet is going to be http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/ they have an X pipe that dumps before the rear axels. This is really the only easy way to run true duals, if you still want tips out the back of the car you're going to be paying quite a bit for a Bassani system or a custom setup. As far as Long Tube headers go you have to replace the cats because the collectors come past the stock cat locations. Also if you have to get emissions checked make sure to get headers that have emissions hookups.

Or get a tune for emissions to delete the codes...

If you get the sniffer test, tuning out the codes doesn't help you much now does it?

Depends on the test -- some states have phased out other testing, and only connect to the OBD-II port...

Some states only test in just some of the counties as well...

some yes, but out of the states that have it i believe many of them still sniff test. you therefore need to have all of your hookups and cats

I said sniffer test... I never said it wouldn't work with other tests. READING is fundamental.
