Default Exciter wire troubles

New Camaro owner and new to the forum. I recently bought a 2000 Camaro base model with a 3.8 for $500. It’s a father-son project for my boy who’s turning 16. It’s got 136,000 on it and it had passed through a couple of hands the last person being a high school kid that didn’t know much about wrenching unfortunately. When I got the car it was in pieces belt was off alternator was off throttlebody was off, missing coil packs, radiator was shot due to to much leak stop, but the car appeared to be in good shape with almost no rust so I took a chance on it and I’ve gotten it running. However, I’m having a problem with the alternator. and the one wire that comes out of the top of the four prong plug.I am trying to figure out where this one exciter wire goes from the alternator where does the red wire go? I know I could run it back yo the fuse box but I want to hook it up like it is hooked up stock from the factory… Does it hook into the wiring harness somewhere? I tried looking at wiring schematics but I’m not thinking I’m seeing it…. Any help would be greatly appreciated….

The exciter wire goes to the PCM.
