My 97 sixer's code of the month is 1440. After I drive it it reeks of gas fumes. Should I replace the evap canister AND purge valve? Is there any lines that should be replaced as well? I'm considering doing this myself, so any pro tips are appreciated.

 

have you replaced the gas cap? check the canister to see if its full of fuel. test the purge valve.
