Default RE: engines

The Lt1 & Lt4 were based on the Chevy small block, but have reverse cooling and a front cover mounted distributor. and they come in two sizes and many HP variations. They use cast iron blocks, and the heads can be either cast iron or aluminum. The LS family replaced the original small block, and is an entirely different engine with very few parts that can be interchanged with the older engines. The LS engines come in various sizes, and are used in trucks and cars, some are all aluminum, and some have cast iron blocks. HP ratings range up to 504 HP.
