Engine coolant temp sensor
#3
The ECT which is wired directly to the PCM is screwed into the water pump housing. The sending unit for the temp gage is screwed into the head near the No 1 plug.
The PCM reads the signal from the ECT and activates the various fan relays which in turn activate the fans.
Early on the 94 run the fans were wired to come on at full speed, one or two fans were activated as needed. Late in the run the fans were wired to both come on at low speed, and both switch to high speed as needed.
