Default EGR Delete Kit: What are the real-world effects and legality concerns?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been reading about EGR delete kits and I’m trying to understand the real-world implications before forming an opinion. From what I gather, the EGR system helps reduce emissions by recirculating exhaust gases, but some people claim deleting it improves performance and reliability.

I’m curious about whether those benefits are actually noticeable in daily driving, and what trade-offs might come with it. Also, how do different regions treat this modification in terms of legality and vehicle inspections?

I’d appreciate insights from anyone with experience or technical knowledge about long-term engine health, fuel economy, and environmental impact overall.

thanks in advance for any help

I left mine hooked up. I dont think it makes much difference. most guys do it because the egr gets plugged up. if you have emissions inspections you will need it.
