e-brake handle removal help

Default e-brake handle removal help

i am trying to remove the e-brake handle to get the button and spring out so i can install a drift ****. i removed the screw that is on the drivers side but the handle wont slide off, it slides like 1/4" or so and stops... how the hell do i get this thing off???

What year is it? I know for mine ('98) I didn't have a screw, I had a rivet that I had to drill out. Mine just slid right off though. There's a rod that goes down the middle with a hook on the end that catches the small plate which engages the e-brake. It might be getting stuck on that for some reason. Other than that, I'm not sure what it could be.

its a 94. i read about some having a rivet but i couldnt find one.

Mine only had one and it was on the driver's side. But that sounds like that's where you took the screw out.

ya i am pretty sure it is. well i guess it is time to make my custom ebrake handle and stop screwing around with this crap. lol
