How do you remove the emergency brake cable off of the rear drum brakes? I have a 1973 Camaro and I need to disconnect the cables so i can pull the rearend away.

 

Either pull the drums and remove it fron the lever on the shoes and squeeze the tabs on the houseing to push it through the backing plates or follow the two under the car to where they meet the one cable and loosen the adjuster and remove it from there.

 

[&:] its easiest to use a small hose clamp to compress the 3 spring pins on the cable housing or if you pull or push the cable housing on the backside of the backing plate in the direction opposite each pin and push each pin down and out the hole individualy kurt
