why did you remove your thermostat?
This is a good question. Did you put a restricotor ring in? The thermostat servers another purpose as it slows the water down so it can actually absorb some heat. Not having a thermostat/restrictor is bad for your engine.

Please elaborate? Whether the water in the block is standing still or moving, there is always water in the block. There's nothing I know of that makes moving water incapable of absorbing heat. The purpose of the thermostat is to hold the water in the radiator long enough to allow it to cool down somewhat. Some cars can actually get away with running without a thermostat and not over-heating, but you're not likely to get away with it on a restricted air flow car like these Camaros. And if it's a winter driven car, you'll never heat up. Running without a stat isn't bad for the engine, unless it causes it to overheat.

basically i removed it because i live here in puerto rico and its usually very hot most of the year so i thought it would be better for the car tu run without it... i noticed that the thermostat is 180 and that was weird cause arent they usually like 195 or somethin?? im also thinking that it might be a bad sensor cause after a while the service engine light turns off...

removing it does the opposite of keeping the engine cool, because the fluid is moving so fast that it can't capture the heat from the engine. A 160 or 180 t-stat would be just fine.

Get a scanner and scan it or have it scanned when the light is on. Also, Camaro 69is right. Water has no problem picking up heat, though it may have a problem losing heat without the thermostat (water wouldn't be in the radiator long enough for heat to be removed).

The computer has a timer in it, the engine has to be warmed up in a certain time for the emmisions to go in to closed loop, if it does not see that within the parameters programmed int he PCM, it will set a code, You need that thermostat anyway, metal wear at its least at 195 degrees.
