My car is all messed up... So im in a catch 22.. DO I drive the car and run the liquid dry and then rebuild the whole thing... or do I park it and fix one problem at a time.

I dont have another car so im looking for a new one

Um, I'm assuming he's saying run it till it dies on him or just fix problems as they present themselves. In which case, I'd say either the latter or neither. Why not just start with a rebuild right now? Do what I plan on doing for a budget build. 355 completely forged (except substitute cast iron crank and hypereutectic pistons), port/polish heads/intake, bigger TB, etc etc.

 

It was more of just a comment out loud.... sorry (Im not able to fix the car my self so i have to trust in other people and that hasnt gone so good so far)

Well, you can trust the guys and gals on here. We're more of a family than a forum and everyone here is happy to help and point those in need in the right direction.

 

What specifically is wrong with your car? Sometimes when a bunch of things all get together and go out at the same time, it is overwhelming. But often times you can fix a bunch of the little ones and have a refreshed outlook on your car. So tell us what's the deal with your car and maybe we can help you with some of the stuff.

P.S. Also, often times a bunch of problems are fixed with one solution, like a broken BCM

 

We can help but you are going to need to find a Trusted Mechainc in your area, He does not have to be the best just know who is good at what and be honest. Your part of the relationship is to understand he is a human and can make mistakes and this is a business. heck even if you buy another car, if its not coming with a warranty, you need a trusted mechainic to check it out. In the car world they can really shine up complete crap... Shinney hoses will not fool a decent mechanic.

Mechanics love repeat customers and will go out of their way to try to make you happy and to make sure they give you good advice because they know they are going to have to deal with you and the car afterward.

You show up for the first time with a un-maintained car wanting a quote to fix something he is going to put little effort into the quote because 70% of the time he will never see you again. If the job goes south little or no harm done to his business.

 

i agree with gorn you need a trusted mechanic... its really easy to bs the customer when they dont know anything about cars. such as muffler bearings. i had a buddy thinking he needed muffler bearings for about 3 weeks, he actually needed a leak welded up, i brought him to autozone and he was asking for bearings lol... all in good fun tho. but seriously, especially since your a girl, some mechanics will try to rob you for every penny they can.
