You can use a straight edge and a flashlight. Slide the straight edge across the head in every direction, with the flashlight on the other side check for light. Its not perfect but better than nothing.

Like others said, use a straight edge if you're that low on cash. That's what my father did when I bought my Camaro and it had blow head gaskets. He's also been working on cars and building engines for 25+ years so he knew what he was doing.

I can't see a shop charging more than $50 or $75 to have them checked. Ask around and then see if you can fit it in your budget. No point in putting money into it if things are just gonna break again right away.

Hey everybody sorry for the slow feedback. when we dissembled the engine it was a warm sunny day now Its been raining and the days are shorter than ever. Luckily finally had the chance to get at it again. parts are coming together piece by piece until i saw this!

Wish i said this sooner, but forgot. Its probably to late know, but should have replaced that oil pressure switch in the back when the intake was off, and the EGR. Those or a B******************* to change when all together, trust me...

thanks luckily i replace the egr but not the switch. we've only got the heads back on and torche it so hopefully it wont be a problem.

Sorry guys, ill try and keep it short. My buddy that helped with the car went into the pen. When he left, the car had the heads back on. My pops and I managed to put it back together somehow with help. What does it come from? You zoomed in so close I am not sure where that is. AC or heater hose?
