is that highway miles 17 to 25 ,17 being intown 25 being highway,i get 12 now with my new set up an love it ,but I would be worried about low gas miles with an lt1,an 25 is great for a fairly powerful engine, while your doing the water pump might as well do the opti spark .like 49.00 to as much as 300.00 I got an accell for like 59.00 .when my pump went

Hmm any ideas on this one? Got it all put back together and radiator filled and I go to bled the system and now it just clicks when I try to start it. I seem to have power but the radio won't play music but displays the time and station. I thought maybe the battery was getting close to dying so I pulled my navigator over to jump but still the same clicking.

I swapped out the terminals on the battery and same thing. I the ignition fuse seems to be fine and I rattled the ground wires but no luck. Kinda stumped

charge the battery, could be the jumper cables didn't get a good connection.
clean your battery terminals and cable ends. wire brush the heck outa them. sometimes i have to scrape with knife to get the hard carbon coating off. look for any wires/connectors you may have left lose.

welp i tried grounding it on the jumper cables to the ground on the body and that did it. turned over like a charm. i let it idle and no leaks from water pump. bled the system figured id take it for a quick driver around the neighborhood and the bottom of the lower radiator hose blew off. kind of a tight squeeze in there maybe i didnt have it on fully. good call though on the battery thing

ugh new problem. radiator hose stays on now its just that damn coolant level indicator is BROKEN. completely snapped off. any fluid i put in the radiator just blasts right out of the hole where the low coolant light thing is. should i just remove it and plug up that hole? what should i use to plug it?

short term if you can't find or afford new sensor, take broken sensor out and plug it. remember to bleed the air out a few times.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a new one but I gotta get this sucker on the road. What would you suggest plugging it with? I have a quick steel putty that's kind of like an epoxy type material. You think that would hold up to the pressure or should I get a jb weld water weld?

Edit: trying the putty. Gonna let it cure overnight and try it out in the am

use something you can get back out. sensors are not expensive and parts store should have one or able to get one overnight. https://www.google.com/search?client...amaro&tbm=shop

Well.. an update for you guys. FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS! Took 2 days of trying to bleed it properly but Ive finally just returned from a 20 minutes drive and temps held beautifully. Boy bleeding this system was a ***** but then again I am pretty much a newbie so. Every time Id start her up.. idling I was fine it would idle forever but the moment Id go for a quick spin the temps would red line. I would never go to far and usually would be back in the drive way before it even reached the red area. Id let it cool then top her off and kept doing it until finally just 30 minutes ago the temps decided to hold. This car is a HUGE headache and source of stress.. but the key is to be patient(which I am not) and to be persistent(which I clearly have enough of to get this far with little mechanical knowledge). I love this car but god damn is **** complex. Thanks craby definitely.. you have been a MAJOR help and your advice is golden every single time. And anyone else who chimed in. Thank you thank you thank you!
