Default Clutch help

Hello Camaro guys!
I am going to be helping a buddy at work replace his clutch and headers on a 1996 Z28. I was looking for any info on replacing the clutch, he doesn't have a good manual for this, and I was wondering if any of you guys could help out. He wants to put a centerforce pressure plate/clutch disc/throwout bearing kit on it. Just looking for any things to look out for, and maybe some torque specs.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Make sure the flywheel is in good shape, otherwise the new clutch won't last long, and possibly chatter. Also, don't forget to replace the release bearing while everything is apart.

Default RE: Clutch help

Hey z28pete,
Thanks! We are planning on resurfacing the flywheel, and the throwout bearing is coming with the kit, so that should be good. Just looking for the "tricks" if there are any for this vehicle. I have worked on many different cars in the past, mostly Fords, and there are always things to look out for with each one. Just trying to geta feel for what we are into on this car, andmaybe some technical data to help us out.

Thanks again z28!
