Default Clunking noise from T56

Hi all, I've got a 95 z28 with about 115,xxx miles and originial clutch.
Last night I gave it a little bit too much throttle backing out and started to peel the tires. When I did this I got a fair bit of axle hop and I felt the car shudder. I immediately disengaged the clutch and let it roll back till I put it in first. Now there is a clunking (kind of like a marble in a turning jar). It seems to be coming from the transmission. I've already checked the driveshaft and u joints and they seem fine. This noise seems to happen in every gear and in nuetral. Its not a very voilent clunk but I'm definately afraid to take it any faster than 10 mph cause it just seems like something will let loose if I push it any harder. What are your thoughts? Mayben the throw out bearing?

sure its from the trany and not the rearend? trany or rear, sounds like something has come lose, part of a gear of bearing.

have you had the rear gear oil changed recently, if you dont get the additive in the rearend the clutch in the posi unit will chatter. make sure its not low on oil.

Thanks for the replies guys! I got a chance to do some more trouble shooting and realized that the noise was not consistent with vehicle speed and it also did it in nuetral and wouldn't do it until the car had a chance to run for a couple of minutes. Also, the smoking gun was that the sound would hit harder over a bump. The cause: broken exhaust hangar which allowed part of the pipe to hit the body. Its all fixed (kind of a band aid fix, but fixed none the less). Thanks again for the suggestions guys.
