Default clicking popping sound from tailpipe

I've noticed a popping sound that sounds a little like bacon frying coming out of the passenger tail pipe. Not sure what it is. Its a high pitched click pop type of sound. It is louder as I rev the engine. The engine sounds fine. Its just the pipes.

Any clue what to look for?

It had a borla muffler. Its a single pipe no cat. The pipe splits just before the muffler. The passanger side goes straight out the the drivers side goes through muffler.

there should be a noise adjustment plate by the muffler that regulates the amount of exhaust that can go straight through. that may be lose. other than that muffler may be goin to pieces. your sure its not coming from the engine?

I opened the hood and don't hear anything abnormal. Just lifters ticking.

Every car I've ever owned with 6 or more cylinders has always ticked. I'm not talking about a loud tick, just a normal steady beat of ticks.

fuel injectors make a light ticking noise when they operate. can you make a recording of the popping and clicking?

He didn't hear anything in the engine. He did however notice that where the A.I.R. had been bypassed that the tube had not bee sealed properly and was leaking a little. He welded it closed. Seems to be running better.
