Cilinder deactivation ?
Hi friends. I have a problem. A friend (really) drove the quarter mile with my 2001 Camaro Z28 LS1. Apparently, he accidentally drove in the overdrive gear and with in the race, the engine went out. Since then the car always goes from time to time. When I select the car, the trinity t2 computer tells me that cylinder deactivation on cylinder 1 is defective. But I think that the LS1 has no cylinder shutdown. Where is the mistake ? And why does my car think it has a cylinder deactivation? As I said. The car runs normally and as soon as you give gas, he throws in the error. Excuse my bad english, it comes from the google translator

Driving in the overdrive during a race isn't going to hurt anything. You are correct that the fourth gen Camaros do not have cylinder deactivation. Are you sure it's not stating that cylinder 1 is having a misfire?

Brought up a question on reading this thread. Just bought a 2023 v 6 with cylinder deactivation. First road trip on straght easy highway the deactivation did not go on at any time - speed 60 or so as breaking it in. However, town driving found it goes into the v4 mode once in a while. Anyone know what this model is supposed to do ? Have been unable to find reading material thus far.
