Default checking codes on 94 Z28 (OBD I)

I plug in the tool, switch the key to "on", the electric fan comes on, the "Check gages" light comes on, but the check engine light doesn't flash any codes, not even 12

(the check engine light does flash during startup)

You cant flash the codes out by jumping the A and B terminals on the 94. You have to use a obd1 scantool to retrieve the codes.

Pete's correct! He's posted some good info on this subject( read below). Go to the COMPUTER topic and you'll see everything you need there!! Even I posted something and it was already there in my face. Here you go!

You cannot flash the codes on 94 and 95 camaros. The 94 can be scanned with an OBD1 scanner, but most code readers will not work. For the 95 car GM got a little weird and you need an OBD1 scanner with a OBD2 style cable or you can make your own adapter. See the FAQ on top of this section.
