The check guages light is ok as long as its just fuel but you should pay mind. I got low one time and the light came on i the next day on my way to get gas i was sitting in trafic and i started over heating i was well over 220 before i noticed the steam and had to shut her down. If the check engine or service engine soon light comes on its for other reason and you should get it checked Advance auto does this for free and will also clear your codes for free. Most shops will charg you 25 bucks for the same service.

My check engine light comes on every time I get low on fuel.. so yes its the camaro's way of telling you your low... but it will also come on if any of the gauges are where they shouldnt be.
