Default Changing out tail lights

Hello, I need help on something I want to do.

I have a 95--the taillights for this model year don't have the amber turn signal section on them. I want to swap them out for the 98 taillights that have the amber turn signal. I attached pictures to show them.

Question is now, do I have my mechanic alter the wiring to tmake them work correctly or can the current wiring setup be used & just exchange out the taillights? Can anyone help?

Actually, it is an issue to make them work correctly. I am trying figure it out. I bought the candy corns and i would also like to get the brake lights to work seperate from the turn signal. The original tail lights are only 2 colors. I have been reviewing the wire diagram from a chilton manual. I dont think its possible unless you install another wire.

I put the amber tail lights on my old 96. Used the existing harness and sockets, but had to trim the slots in a couple of the socket openings in the housings with a utility knife, as the lock tabs have different clocking positions than the older housing does. NO need to rewire it.

I dont know what the original posters intent is. However i believe the amber lights are for turn signal ONLY. They come on when you turn on the switch at the dash. They should only blink when required. However on the original lights the blinker/brake lights are controlled by a single wire at the bulb socket.

He wants to put the 97-up amber tail light housings on his 95. Works like a charm, just as I described.

Thank you for the final confirmation. I was getting nervous for a minute coz I don't know anything about re-wiring & didn't wanna have it turn into something awful. Glad confirmed what Craby said. If it's a matter of swapping out like you both said, then I'm in the clear.

Once the tail lights come in, I'll taking them off. I do have a Chilton book & a Haynes book to help me remove the tail lights.

CONFESSION: I don't know much about Camaros & I've had them since 2013 & 2016, I'm still VERY new to them. My Godfather gave me his 95 L32 in 2013 & he gave me his 86 Z28 in 2016 that was in his barn in SD. He said no human being should go thru life not knowing some form of the "Camaro Life". And since they were gifts, of course I'll keep 'em forever, even though I don't drive them too much. He said they are the car versions of a "crotch rocket". He was a mechanic back in his days & he said something about having a "427" & a GTO that terrorized the neighbors & his parents.

So whenever I need help, I'll be back to you all. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS!!
