CATS!!!!!!
hey guys i got a 98 ALL STOCK trans am automatic and im kinda broke right now to buy an exhaust cuz im looking to get the slp loudmouth but for now i was wondering if i can just take the cats off my stock exhaust and just run it from there?? how would it sound?? and if its a bad idea or if theres anything special i would need to do like get it tuned then let me know!!

My car hasnt caught on fire yet... I have a nice gap in my exhaust from the Y to the pipes and if that wasnt there to add an ugly rattling sound it would sound pretty good, my cars plenty loud and when i stand behind it it sounds good standing on the passenger side however you can hear the rattle. So all in all if you take the cats off and close up the exhaust it will sound pretty good.

it does sound like poop, when i bought my car it had no cat and a flowmaster. around 3k rpm it started to sound like a sick beretta, decel sounded like a jack brake on a diesel. save your money and buy what you really want

i agree with these guys. wait and do it right. the power gains from that are not worth the time. if you have inspections you will fail. so wait until you can afford some headers and either an off road ypipe, or a high flow cat ypipe
