Default Can't enable factory alarm??

I just got my car about a week ago and I'm guessing the alarm was disabled because the previous owner did not have a key fob. Its got the little red light on the dash for the security system, never seen it flash. I also checked the rpo codes and it has the theft deterrent system code. I've also found the sensor in the trunk. So far I've managed to reprogram a new fob and the locks, trunk etc. work with it. I can't get the alarm enabled though. Whenever I try to enter the mode (acc to off, pull the radio fuse, etc.) to enable the programming mode I get 5 chimes and I can't change anything. Any ideas, blown fuse somewhere?

Are you sure it is a "factory alarm" or some after market add on? Is the securty lamp inside the instrument panel or some where else on the dashboard.

Its the factory one. Its the little red led that is sticking out of the vent in the middle of the top of the dash. Name: 03d590d4.jpg

Your talking about the security system, and not the random switch right?

It makes sense now. I didn't realize the BCM was connected to that fuse. Thanks
I'm definitively going to put the switch in a better spot though.
