It would be so much easier for me to stay put in the driveway. Or, for better data, does the software require the rubber to meet the road?

Are you just check codes? you don't have to even start it.
It all depends on what you are checking. Most things that go wrong with store a code. If you want to watch live sensor data it depends on what you want to check. Anything that is effected by engine load would need you to drive. The software may log data so you can go back after and review the info.

No, I wish there was a code. Then, I would know what to do. I've got some sluggish behavior when accelerating at higher speeds which just feels fuel-related. I just grabbed these app pics below yesterday and I'm slowly interpreting data in Gary's app this morning. The data log below that just looks like old school machine code :/. I don't see where log data shows fuel parameters. I'm guessing, given the obvious redundancy, that just a few "paragraphs" of log data is all that's needed for a quick assessment instead of dozens, no?

Re: trim values (according to Fred):

"The fact that the "lt fuel trm r: = 124 " would indicate that at idle (as indicated by "lt fuel tr cl = 16", the correct fuel trim cell for idle) the right bank O2 sensor is not indicating a lean A/F ratio. but actually showing a slightly "rich" condition, which the PCM is addressing by reducing the amount of fuel it would normally deliver by 3.1%. "

So, evidently, 4 points matters. Why the PCM needs to do this may be a clue.

Obviously, both scans below are from different rpm's while non-mobile. I'm going to go mobile later to get different and, hopefully, better data.

Non-mobile data:
  • MAP (36-42) - normal
  • Spark adv (28 idle/40 at 2500 rpm) - normal
  • O2 voltage (.55 to.87) - normal
  • The "target" A/F ratio of 14.4 after warming up looks good (at idle) - normal
  • IAC is between 20 & 40 (25 at idle and 37 at 2500 rpm) - normal
  • Fuel trim on BLM LT behavior questionable on both banks (124-126) & injector open for 4.75 & 5.69 ms idle & at 2500 rpm's. Short term both normal at 128. ***I don't know how many milliseconds the fuel injector pulse should be open for just yet-just started researching. TBD.***

Mobile data:
TBD.

I don't know how dynamic each variable of data becomes when going mobile. It will be interesting to see which bits mattered for diagnosis.
