Default Camaro Heat not Working!

Its starting to get cold here. I have a 1998 3.8 Camaro and when I switch to heat it only blows cold air..... I had my car checked by a mechanic he told me one of the hoses was warm and the other was cold.... There is no leak from my heater core so he thinks that my hose is just blocked.... How do I go about clearing out both hoses? I dont want to pay him I know it should be simple.!!

check to make sure the temp dial is moving the cable. if the door that lets air flow through the heater core is not working or opening part way then heat would take some time to come through. other thing is the heater core it self. have you had it flushed? it may be plugged up.

flushing heater core off shbox site.

This is the #1 cause for a no heat complaint on a 4th gen f-body.
Remove the heater hoses at the water pump. This allows flushing of the hoses and the core.
Orient the hoses to keep all moisture off the optispark.
Using a garden hose, flush into one heater hose allowing the water to come out the other.
Do not use high pressure. The cooling system is only rated for 18 psi. Full hose pressure can be over 50 psi.
When the water looks clear, swap hoses, flushing into the other one.
Reverse a couple of times to help ensure a good flush.
Re-connect the hoses and refill/bleed the system.

If you are going to flush the heater core, you can take the heater hoses off where they go through the firewall and use a garden hose to push water through the core both directions until the water comes out clear. Those clamps are a PITA to get back on though!

Have you tired taking the hoses off at the water pump and pushing water through? It may will be easier but for some reason, I was thinking there was some type restrictor or something in one of them. To answer your question about how to get them back on, I just used some regular hose clamps that you can tighten with a screwdriver. I tried for 30 minutes and gave up!

I will try to clean them in the morning... I just wanted to find out how to put them back on first before I took them off
