if its from the front of the engine on the passenger side then its probly one or both of the plastic elbows. coolant will leak from above and drip or run down. im not saying thats for sure what it is... just a place that is a common failure point. there are heater hoses in that area also and a poor connection on any of them can leak. water pump is in front middle of the motor and the shaft is buried to where you cant really see it also so if water pump is leaking it can run down the front too.

Cameras and mirrors come in real handy for tracking this stuff down. Water pump will have a weep hole on the neck of it. You should be able to see it. If you see any coolant around the hole or even staining then the pump should be replaced. The elbow can be tuff to see unless you have a camera. This is what it looks like with parts removed.

First shot show where the water pump mounts on the engine

Lower intake itself is another common leak area but there are a lot of less common places it could leak also.

Not the right pump for the Camaro but give you an idea what to look for, hole should be facing down so you would see it from under the car.

I FOUND 2 LEAKS, Pressure tester did not maintain pressure it tore that pressure down like it was a sucking the life off my car. One of the leaks is definitely one of the bolts that is connect near my oil filter and the other is one of my pipes near the tranny pan. Why do I have this paranoid feeling that my mechanic that did the clutch bleed did not notice this?? He probably made that leak himself?!! I paid him $100 to do a diagnostic check not just a clutch bleed...

check your water pumps too for leaks ,if its not one of your hoses then the water pump is leaking ,this guy that charged YOU $300.00 + to much to install the rad does not warranty his work,an you rad is for v6 not a lt1 the lt1 is a v8 engine ,yours is the 3800 like said 3.8L

Thanks for the insight Gorn! But I do not think it is the fuel pump, or it may just be my newby analysis skills but I found a bolt that is leaking fluid near my oil filter and it is dripping like crazy when I ever I set the pressure tester to 15 PSI

I also did unscrewed the bleeder screw and no coolant came out of the screw... so maybe it is a leak that is causing my coolant to heat up and boil over?

Leaks are easy to see on a cold engine with pressure in it. They tend to leak more then even when the car is hot with pressure because everything is expanding from the heat.

I was a mechanic for a while and I have been asked "why didn't you see this." The answer is always the same, I work to the work order. Then I move to the next one. I may see something and I would tell the service writer but learning 100% focus is a big part of the job. A wind clean leak can be found but it needs to be looked for.

If your system can not hold pressure it can not stop coolant from boiling. If you are really leaking from the bolt hole near the oil pump then I believe you are talking timing chain cover. That is a pretty big job for a non-experienced guy.

well its sounding like the front cover is leaking, meaning the water pump and plastic elbows will need to be removed, it would be smart to replace both elbows and the water pump as the front cover gasket is replaced. again this is not to say it is your front cover as coolant could be running down unseen and dripping off the bolt by the oil pump/filter. not sure what pipe your talking about, you dont have a trans pan on a manual transmission so the only pan you have is the oil pan at the bottom of the engine. i dont recall a pipe for coolant in that area. if you have coolant coming from the rear of the engine i would look to the lower intake gasket failing or worse a head gasket. only other pipe i can think of is the pipes for the heater that go back to the firewall. back of engine compartment on the passenger side.

damn I guess I shouldn't blame the mechanic then... but still he said he would check the car all around for the diagnostic check though....
I did the check on a cold engine under 15 PSI pressure and the bolt would drip liquid like it was a leakin faucet in the sink.

I returned the pressure tester so at the moment I'm stuck
