Camaro Coolant Leak????
#62
put the cap on and run it for a while. watch your temp and see how it goes. let it cool and check level. once it pressures up, temp goes up and coolant expands, with the cap on you dont want to open it. not a good idea to open the radiator when the car is hot or at operating temp. can get some nasty burns from hot coolant spraying out.

This is a 3800? There is a air bleeder on the top of the thermostat that is the only way to get the air out of the engine. With the engine cold, use a pair of pliers and crack the knurled brass looking bleed until coolant runs out. No other way to do it with this design. The radiator cap is a good bit below the thermostat and the air will never come out unless you bleed it.
Best pic I could find, there hole right above where the large radiator hose went one should have a brass bleeder in it.

Is the car overheating?
With all coolant issues the step one should be a pressure test. You need a tool to do it but you can borrow that from a chain parts store. Then search Youtube for how to pressure test my coolant system. If the system can not maintain pressure then the coolant will boil.
